Three Important Health Tips to Start the New Year out Right
With Christmas day almost here, I want to wish all of you a healthy and happy Christmas. I know most of you are busy preparing for gift exchanges and Christmas dinners.
The one thing that I keep relearning about health is that if you put good nutrition into your body, your body will serve you a long time. Some of the things that I feel are important to follow are to limit eating the foods that hurt you and eat more of the foods that help you. You can do this gradually. You don’t need to change your diet drastically to get health benefits.
For good health, there are three areas that you need to concentrate on to gain better health for 2008.
Constipation
Make sure you are regular and the fecal matter does not stay in your colon more than 24 hours. Many people die from various colon diseases and the reason is that they are big meat eaters and become constipated. Associated with constipation are many diseases that doctors don’t relate to constipation. But in the colon is where many diseases start and not many people realize this.
Toxins are real when you are constipated and it stresses and contaminates your body just like when food is allowed to sit out in the open for days – it decomposes and becomes toxic. These toxins get into your blood stream and make your body toxic and weak.
Mucus
Minimize eating those foods that create mucus. Mucus is a defensive mechanism that your body uses to trap toxins and to reduce the irritation of various chemicals you eat or absorb through your skin. Mucus is created every where in your body and it shows up in your lungs, blood, lymph, or urine. The more mucus you have the more toxins you have in your body. If you have mucus constantly coming out of your nose or you wake up with a lot of mucus in your throat, then you have toxins from drink food you ate that are irritating your gastrointestinal wall lining.
Foods that cause mucus are milk, dairy products, foods in bags, or processed foods, sugar, and white flour products. These foods are real killers since they contain a lot of un-natural chemical that create irritation inside your body. This irritation produces what is called low level inflammation that later turns into a disease.
When you have a cold, reduce the use of those over the counter medications that suppress mucus drainage. You need to let mucus flow out of your body, since this is the time your body sees a chance to get rid of your body toxins by releasing mucus. Doing a colon and blood cleanse will help you clean out your body of toxins.
Sugar
Sugar is another real killer. It upsets the balance of your body’s hormones that are released by your endocrine system. When sugar causes your pancreas to release more insulin, the rest of your organs have to adjust their release of their hormones. It’s a cascade process where your whole body gets out of balance and tries to adjust to the high sugar in your blood. This stresses your endocrine system setting the stage for disease, if the condition continues for a long time. And, if you are concerned about hair loss, eat less sugar.
Just concentrating on these three things will improve your health greatly. Increase your regularity from one bowel movement to two per day. When you have a cold, don’t use “Contact” or any other mucus suppressing drug. Let your mucus flow to get rid of toxins. Then limit the use of sugar. Your hormones will be more balanced and you will have less sick days.
